As a child, Kris faced physical challenges. Unable to compete in sports, young Kris spent his spare time in his father's furniture workshop, crafting games and wooden toys to sell for pocket money.
After completing an apprenticeship, Kris went on to manage AJ Iversen's prestigious furniture workshop in Copenhagen. In his pursuit for professional perfection, Kris joined the Danish Technological Institute, where he helped establish the Danish Furnituremakers Quality Control body, which he headed for several years.
In the late 1960s, Kris partnered with entrepreneur Paul Wallevik to set up Scanstyle-Mim in Ghana, the first high-end furniture manufacturing company in a developing country.
Kris built, set up, and led furniture businesses across the globe. Kris' lifelong passion for furniture resulted in a vast catalogue of innovative designs.
